Are you sick of waiting for your turn in the polyclinic? I bet most of you are but it seems to be a standard rite of passage. Affordable dental visits, consultations with doctors or simply wound care for the injury from partying too hard (totally not me), you name it, they probably have it.

You simply book a polyclinic appointment using the HealthHub app, HealthHub’s website or the Health Buddy app (for polyclinics under SingHealth).

Range of Services offered by Polyclinics

Polyclinics actually offer quite a wide range of services. Aside from the acute medical care and the pharmacy services that we are familiar with, they also provide basic diagnostic services and vaccination services. Some polyclinics even offer dental and physiotherapy services. You can find out the details of the services offered by polyclinics in the NHG, NUHS and SingHealth.

The following polyclinics offer dental services:

Step 1: Determine the cluster that the particular polyclinic belongs to

Can I go to the polyclinic without booking an appointment?

It is possible for you to walk into the polyclinic without booking an appointment. However, you may experience a longer waiting time, as priority will be given to patients who have pre-booked their appointments before going to the polyclinic.

Can I make an appointment at the Polyclinic for my parents?

It is possible for you to make an appointment for your parents via the HealthHub app. Your parents will need to add you as a caregiver first before you are able to book appointments for them.

Conclusion

Finally, booking a polyclinic appointment can be done via 1 platform, making this a much more efficient and convenient process for us. Except for those who stay in the East and have the option of Health Buddy, HealthHub being the only option is a good thing, especially now it allows us to book dental appointments directly. I definitely would not miss accessing the individual sector’s website or calling the staff for rescheduling.

For the Easties, I do see how Health Buddy can bring about value still. Like what I mentioned in my previous post on these 2 apps, if your parents have issues with SingPass, Health Buddy would be able to help since it uses a different method of linking accounts. Let’s hope that for dental appointments, we can book online by ourselves soon, just like the other sectors.
